JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is in critical condition following a shooting in the Lake Forest area Friday afternoon, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Police say the incident happened in the 900 block of Brandywine Street sometime around 12:40 p.m.
When they arrived, they found a man who claimed he shot another man who attempted to rob him. Police say the man who was shot was taken to UF Health and is listed in critical condition.
JSO says the shooter is in custody, and police are not looking for anyone else.
Both individuals involved live on the same street and JSO says officers are detaining witnesses, reviewing any video evidence and canvassing the neighborhood.
