JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The city has issued a building permit for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office to move into the Florida Blue Riverside Office Complex in the Brooklyn neighborhood, with the project costing $5 million.

The permit says JSO will remodel space in the garage, the first floor, the ninth floor and 10th floor.

The cost is listed as covering "alterations and repairs."

Danis Builders LLC is listed as the contractor and the construction manager. Hoefer Welker Architects is the architect, and Meskel & Associates Engineering is listed as the civil engineer.

All are based in Jacksonville.

The city has set aside $9 million for renovations on the current jail, but there have been no plans announced to move the jail to another location.
