JSO: Juvenile shot in the leg leaving party in Arlington

Police said the juvenile suffered a gunshot wound to the leg on Arlington Road and the incident resulted from two groups arguing in a parking lot.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A juvenile is expected to recover from a shooting early morning Sunday in Arlington, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers responded to 956 Arlington Road regarding a person shot around 12:50 a.m. Sunday morning, police said. Officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to their leg and they were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

JSO said the victim was leaving a party at an event center when two groups were arguing in the parking lot. The argument evolved into a shooting between two gunmen. The agency is investigating if the victim was the target or caught in the gunfire.

The victim was not one of the shooters, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
