JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Members of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department and the State Attorney were recognized by Jacksonville City Council resolution for everything that they did during the disappearance of Lonzie Barton.
The toddler went missing in July of last year and caught the attention of everyone in the city. Hundreds upon hundreds of man hours were put in by men and women with many agencies, including countless put in by JSO and JFRD.

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND THANKING THE HUNDREDS OF MEN AND WOMEN OF THE JACKSONVILLE SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND FIRE AND RESCUE DEPARTMENT, OTHER NORTHEAST FLORIDA LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, MEMBERS OF THE MILITARY, THE STATE ATTORNEY’S OFFICE OF THE FOURTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT AND THE CITIZEN VOLUNTEERS WHO DEVOTED COUNTLESS HOURS TO THE INVESTIGATION OF THE TRAGIC DISAPPEARANCE OF TODDLER LONZIE BARTON; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
