JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man is recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg Monday night on the Westside.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was called to 3700 Star Leaf Rd. around 10 p.m. for reports of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his late teens with a single gunshot wound. The man told police he had just gotten into a vehicle at an apartment complex, 5400 Norde Drive West, when he was hit by a bullet, and was then taken to a family member's home, where police were called.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, JSO said. No one else was hurt in the shooting, and no property was struck by gunfire, police said.
Currently, police do not have any suspect information. The Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit are handling the investigation.
