JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Fanatics corporate office on the city's southside has been deemed safe after receiving a bomb threat Wednesday morning, authorities said.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, employees at Fanatics evacuated about 9 a.m. after receiving the threat in a telephone call from an unknown person.
Officers and K-9s conducted a search of the business, which lasted about an hour. Police say no suspicious objects were found during the investigation.
"On the off-chance that it is an actual threat, we want to make sure everybody's safe. We thoroughly check every call because we have to treat it as a real threat," JSO Sgt. James Cannon said.
Employees were able to go back inside the building following the search.
