The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department says the fire occurred in the 1500 block of 24th Street. The Red Cross was called out to assist two adults and one child.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Four dogs have died in a house fire "deemed suspicious" on Jacksonville's Eastside Tuesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

JFRD made a post on X and say that crews are working on putting out the fire that occurred in the 1500 block of East 24th Street. JFRD told First Coast News two dogs were saved, as the Red Cross was called out to assist two adults and one child.

Although the fire department says circumstances around the fire are suspicious, details were not released on why that is the case. Florida's State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, according to JFRD.

First Coast News is at the scene and will provide updates as soon as they become available.
