JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As the First Coast deals with downpours for the majority of Wednesday, a lightning strike caused a house on Jacksonville's Southside to catch fire, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department (JFRD) told First Coast News.
JFRD says lightning struck a home on Alexis Forest Drive around 6:30 a.m. A woman and two children escaped without injuries.
The home is a total loss, according to JFRD.
