UPDATE: Power has been restored as of 8:57 p.m. A blown transformer caused the outage.
Over 3,100 JEA customers are without power Friday night in the Southside, according to JEA.
An outage affecting 3,182 customers in the area of Kernan, Beach and Hodges Boulevards was reported at 7:58 p.m., according to JEA's website.
A JEA spokesperson told First Coast News crews have been dispatched to the area to determine the cause and that one or more possibly blown transformers could be the issue.
Power is expected to be restored by 10:13 p.m., the website says.
