JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 62-year-old Jacksonville woman won $1 million from a scratch-off ticket she bought at a grocery store in the city's Arlington area, the Florida Lottery announced Friday.
Anna Newson purchased a LOTERIA GRANDE scratch-off ticket from the Publix located at 7177 Merrill Rd., according to the Florida Lottery. The store received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
Newson chose to collect her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.
The LOTERIA GRANDE scratch-off game features six top prizes of $1 million; the game's overall odds are 1-in-3.97.
