JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville woman reported missing Dec. 7 has still not been found.
Jessica Brown's family is distributing her picture in hopes that they can find her. She is 5'5 and 230 pounds with brown eyes and red hair. She is pictured below.
Brown was reported missing after she did not come home for five days. Her roommate reported this to police, saying that Brown would not leave for this long because her daughter was living with them. She would always come back for her daughter, the roommate told police.
On Dec. 7, Brown is believed to have left her apartment on a JTA bus and taken it downtown.
Her roommate told police she thought she was might be with her boyfriend, Ronald Smith. When she tried to engage with Smith on Dec. 12, the fifth day Brown was gone, she was told he was working at a nearby cemetery for the day. However, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says they looked into this and the cemetery said they do not hire day laborers.
A business where Brown worked told both her roommate and police she had not been there recently.
Police determined a person with the same name as Brown was discharged from the Baptist Beaches location on Thursday, but could not confirm it was the same woman.
Police checked with other hospitals and she had not been there; she has not recently been arrested or Baker Acted. She did not answer her phone, nor did Smith. Using this information, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office deemed her a missing person.
