JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 30-year-old Jacksonville woman is dead after a wrong-way crash happened on Interstate 295 near Duval Road at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The news release states that the woman was travelling north in the northbound lanes of I-295 as a 57-year-old Jacksonville man and driver of a sedan, was traveling south in the northbound lanes. The man suffered serious injuries in the crash.
Both vehicles rotated counter clockwise upon colliding with each other. The SUV, which belonged to the unidentified woman, flipped over and came to final rest on its right side, obstructing the left and center lanes on I-295 northbound. The man's vehicle came to final rest in the left northbound lane of I-295.
