JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Update: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office have located the missing 14-year-old boy.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 14-year-old boy who was last seen on the city's Southside, according to a news release.
Gerard Nathaniel Bryant was reported missing by family members after he left his home on foot near the 9600 block of Old Baymeadows Road at noon Friday, according to JSO.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement activated a missing child alert for Gerard, too.
"Due to Gerard's mental state and the circumstances, we are seeking assistance in locating him in an effort to ascertain his safety," the release states. "If you reside in the area, we ask you check any cameras, vehicles, and property for Gerard."
Gerard is 5 feet and 8 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds, and was last seen wearing gray pants, a two-toned blue shirt with the words, "Glovers Painting and Drywall Inc" written on it, and gray socks.
