JSO: Man shot in the chest at 103rd Street mobile home community after dispute

The victim's injuries are non-life-threatening, police said.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is expected to recover after he was shot in the chest early Saturday morning at a Westside mobile home complex, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO said the shooting occurred around 12:50 a.m. in the Deerpointe mobile home community. Officers were called to a "verbal dispute," the agency said.

The victim, in his mid-30s, drove himself to an area hospital. His injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.

Officers, who are examining surveillance footage and canvassing the neighborhood, have detained an individual and there is no threat to the community.
