Jacksonville man wins $1 million from scratch-off ticket

The man chose to receive his winnings in a lump-sum payment of $640,000.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 59-year-old Jacksonville man won $1 million from a scratch-off ticket he bought at a grocery store on Roosevelt Boulevard, the Florida Lottery announced Wednesday. 

Charles Dennison bought a GOLD RUSH LEGACY scratch-off ticket from the Winn-Dixie at 5647 Roosevelt Blvd. for $20, the Lottery said. Dennison chose to receive his winnings in a lump-sum payment of $640,000. 

Winn-Dixie received a $2,000 reward for selling the winning ticket. 

The GOLD RUSH LEGACY game was launched in April and features four top prizes of $10 million and 20 prizes of $1 million.
