JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville City Council voted 15-1 to take over and demolish the Jacksonville Landing Tuesday evening.
Eighteen-million dollars was on the line at the Jacksonville City Council meeting as they discussed the City's potential purchase and demolition of the Jacksonville Landing.
The one vote against the bill was from City Councilmember Anna Brosche.
"I don't have any heartburn about demolishing this structure," Councilmember Bill Gulliford said.
The council’s finance committee voted 7-0 for the legislation last Wednesday after the neighborhoods committee gave its backing 6-1 on Monday.
Demolition could happen before the end of the year.
