JACKSONVILLE, Fla — On Saturday, police officers, firefighters, medical and military first responders will participate in the annual “Gun ‘N Hoses” hockey game at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, all to benefit the family of missing JFRD firefighter, Brian McCluney.
After the match, the firefighters team’s jerseys will be auctioned. McCluney's family will receive that money, along with proceeds from the 50/50 raffle.
In August, firefighters Brian McCluney and Justin Walker went on a fishing trip out of Port Canaveral. Their boat was lost at sea.
Fire Chief Keith Powers said the chance to help McCluney’s family makes Saturday’s game more special for players
"When you lose the primary income, the breadwinner in the family, it's tough,” he said. “And Stephanie McCluney, which is Brian's widow, she's got to try to raise two young children."
The tickets to go watch the “Gun ‘N Hoses” Game will also grant you access to the match where the Icemen will take on their archrival the Orlando Solar Bears at 7 p.m.
