JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department is mourning the loss of one of its beloved engineers who died Tuesday.
Ian Church was hired by JFRD in February 2021 and was promoted to engineer in June 2024.
Funeral arrangements for Church have not been released at this time.
A GoFundMe for his family calls him a "devoted firefighter and cherished husband and father." They say he died following a "courageous" battle with cancer.
According to the GoFundMe, Church leaves behind his wife, Brittany, and three young children.
