JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is investigating a death outside of Baptist Beaches Hospital on Thursday afternoon. Hospital officials have told First Coast News a deceased person was brought to the hospital.
Police taped off an area near the hospital. At around 1:15 p.m., police said they are in the early stages of investigation and have no information to share.
Baptist Beach Hospital is still open and continuing normal operations.
Foul play is not suspected, police said.
Baptist Health Statement:
"A deceased individual was brought to Baptist Beaches. The Jacksonville Beach Police responded per their standard undetermined manner-of-death protocol. There was no interruption to care or service at Baptist Beaches, nor any threat to the hospital campus."
