Jacksonville Beach police find missing teenage girl safe

A 17-year-old was missing in Jacksonville Beach Thursday. She has been found safe.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Update: Kate Fennell has been found safe.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department says a search is ongoing Thursday for a missing 17-year-old girl last seen by her father Wednesday night.

Police say Kate A. Fennell was last seen in the area of America Avenue and Jacksonville Drive on Wednesday at 11:15 p.m. The police department says Kate is suspected of leaving the area Thursday between 1:15 a.m. and 1:45 a.m., with no known direction or method of travel.

Kate is described as being five feet and four inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a bright red shirt with "God is dope" written on the front, according to police.

Anyone who has seen or knows the whereabouts of Kate, is asked to contact the Jacksonville Beach Police Department at 904-270-1667 and ask for Detective Burrell.
