JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Jacksonville Beach Elementary School has again been named the top-ranked elementary school in Florida by U.S. News & World Report.
The school received high marks for academic achievement this year, with 100% of its students scoring at or above proficiency in both math and reading, the City of Jacksonville announced on Facebook Tuesday.
About 630 students attend Jacksonville Beach Elementary. According to US News, the school features a student-teacher ratio of 17:1, which is better than district averages.
The school’s population is diverse, with 66% of students identifying as minorities. The school employs 36 full-time teachers and one full-time school counselor, according to US News' latest report.
Jacksonville Beach Elementary is part of the Duval County Public Schools district.
