Jacksonville Air Force veteran injured in hit-and-run has died

Robbie Roberts' family has been pleading for justice as police seek the driver who hit her and left the scene.
Robbie Roberts' family said her mother was on the phone with her when she was hit, and the driver drove away.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The family of Robbie Roberts, the Jacksonville Air Force veteran injured in a hit-and-run on Oct. 22, says she has died Tuesday after a week on life support. It was two days after her 54th birthday.

Her sister says she died of a brain injury from the hit-and-run.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was asking for help finding one of two cars that hit Roberts. One driver stayed on scene, but JSO has not been able to find the other, who drove away from the scene at the intersection of Normandy Boulevard and Lenox Avenue.

Police say it appears to be a Nissan Juke or similar car. The pictures are attached below.

The driver is described as a 50-year-old man with gray and white "medium-length" hair, JSO said. He fled the scene going eastbound on Normandy Boulevard. He was seen with a passenger, who was a white female.
