Will the zombies from the popular television show "The Walking Dead" make a return visit to southeast Georgia later this month?
Stalwart Films, LLC, a production company that works on the show, which is filmed in Georgia, requested permission from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GDNR) to film on Jekyll Island.
Specifically, the production company wants to film at Driftwood Beach, the Jekyll Island Boat Ramp and St. Andrews Beach.
The production is expected to beginning prepping June 18 and completed by no later than July 1.
Though the GDNR letter of permission doesn’t specifically mention zombies, it does say the production is related to an AMC television show. Stalwart Films works on "The Walking Dead" series.

A shipwreck is found washed ashore with approximately 15 to 20 passengers on-board. As they disembark, a battle takes place between the island inhabitants and the passengers. If time allows: three people, accompanied by a dog, walk along the beach and have a conversation. Two young girls are casting seen in nets in the surf along the beach.
- Jekyll Island Boat Ramp: The small fishing boat arrives dockside and is greeted by a welcoming committee of approximately four people. There are six to 10 islanders active on the dock, including two young girls casting see in nets into the water. A rescue boat is moored in the river channel; the rescue boat is approached by a smaller boat; the rescue boat is boarded and pulls away.
- St. Andrews Beach: A small fishing boat carrying two to three people is seen from the beach approaching the island.
