Emergency management officials in Flagler County say residents in Zones A, B, and F should prepare to evacuate Monday.
The county will open a special needs shelter at 8 a.m. Monday at Rymfire Elementary located at 1425 Rymfire Dr.
A general population shelter will open at Bunnell Elementary School located at 305 N. Palmetto St. It will open after the evacuation order has been issued.
In Flagler Beach, road closed signs still line the construction area of A1A, which crumbled during Hurricane Matthew in 2016. County officials said construction crews have secured all equipment ahead of the potential hazards Hurricane Dorian will bring.
The Flagler Beach Pier will close Tuesday and lifeguards have already been pulled from their posts with warnings in place to avoid the beach and ocean.
Several gas stations along the coast south of Flagler Beach have started to prepare by wrapping pumps and boarding-up windows.
Law enforcement ramping-up ahead of the storm as well. Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said 180 deputies will split day and night shifts: all days-off have been canceled until further notice.
Additionally, the Florida National Guard has a presence in Flagler County. Over a dozen men and women will be stationed at the armory near Bunnell until needed for traffic control and support.
