ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla.—A house fire on Robert Street completely shut down the road in Atlantic Beach Wednesday afternoon for several hours, authorities said.
A firefighter was burned by an ember but there are no other injuries in the fire that brought first responders from both the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department and the Atlantic Beach Police Department.
The State Fire Marshal reported that the home is a near-total loss. The cause of the blaze is still being looked into, but it is believed to be accidental in nature.
