On Thursday, Feb. 13, the North Florida School of Special Education held its 10th annual Heart of the Runway Fashion Show. First Coast News' Heather Crawford was honored to Emcee the event.
It was all about love at the Linda Cunningham Boutique, where students from the school dressed to impress and show off the latest fashion trends.
The fashion show is one of the ways the school fosters each student’s abilities and allows them to engage in the community. For many students, this is their favorite event where they let their personalities shine down the runway.
“It’s kind of like being yourself and knowing that everyone’s there to support you," said Caleb McCord, a student at the school.
Heart of the Runway also featured original art created by students. The lunch at the event was made by the school’s culinary team.
Guests were able to participate in raffles and purchase the pieces showcased on the runway. Those proceeds go to the school’s art program.
