Glynn County Police officer on administrative leave after DUI arrest

The officer was pulled over by Georgia State Patrol around 3:30 a.m. Sunday for failing to maintain his driving lane, the department said.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — A Glynn County Police Department officer was arrested Sunday and charged with driving under the influence in Brunswick, Georgia. 

The police department said Officer Devin Batten, 29, was pulled over by Georgia State Patrol near Altama Avenue and Emery Dawson Road around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. 

Batten was failing to maintain his driving lane, the police department said, and was charged with DUI. 

"Glynn County Police Chief Ebner is committed to maintaining the highest standards within the GCPD and wants to assure the people of Glynn County that this incident will be thoroughly investigated," the department said. "The findings of the OPS investigation will determine the appropriate course of action."

Batten has been played on administrative leave without pay pending the department's investigation.
