JSO says Zuniga conducted unlawful sexual activity with a minor but did note that none of the victims in the case were under 18 years old.
The academy announced Thursday that a teacher had been fired from the school after they were alerted of an "inappropriate relationship" between the teacher and a student.
Zuniga's neighbors told First Coast News there were police cars and detectives at the home that same evening.
Parents and students said Zuniga is the soccer coach and Bible teacher.
Zarek Jones, a soccer player on Zuniga's team said, "We thought he was cool. We'd go to his classroom and eat lunch there."
"I know he shouldn't have done this," Jones added. "I don't know whether to be mad or sad, but he taught us not to do stuff like this."
The spokesperson for the school says they are committed to offering care and support for the student and all the families impacted.
