LAKELAND, Fla. -- A person sustained minor injuries after a remote controlled jet plane crashed during a remote control air event at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport.
Lakeland Police says one of the hobbyists was flying his 3-foot, $20,000 when it crashed near him. The fuel from the R/C plane inflicted some serious burns.
Polk Fire Rescue initially wanted to fly the injured man to TGH, but foggy skies grounded the medical helicopter and the man was taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital.
