A Cessna aircraft landed safely on Interstate 75 Thursday near Gainesville, and luckily no injuries have been reported.
Firefighters in the area responded to the scene near Mile Marker 382 after the pilot reported engine problems.
The FAA released the following statement regarding the incident:
A Cessna 172 aircraft with two people onboard landed safely on I-75 near mile marker 382 at about noon today after the pilot reported engine problems. The pilot was headed for Gainesville Regional Airport. The aircraft registration is N93989 look up the owner at FAA.gov. The FAA is investigating. Local authorities will release the names and conditions of both people onboard.
