OCALA, Fla. — An 84-year-old man was killed after the Florida Highway Patrol said a woman driving a golf cart ran into him at an Ocala retirement community Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. in the On Top of the World retirement community in Southwest Ocala, troopers said.
The crash report said the golf cart was traveling west in the eastbound multi-use path on Southwest 94th Street while the victim was walking the same direction ahead of the cart. Troopers said the golf cart struck the victim from behind.
Marion County Fire Rescue pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
