JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after he was hit by a truck while walking on I-95 near 8th street, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said a pickup truck was traveling northbound on I-95 near 8th Street at about 4:52 a.m. when it hit a pedestrian who was walking on the roadway. The crash closed lanes for hours.
The front of the pickup truck struck the 55-year-old Orange Park man projecting him forward onto the roadway. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
