PossAbilities Plus creating opportunities for people with special needs on the First Coast

Participants of PossAbilities Plus will be able to earn certifications in areas such as food safety, first aid, and childcare.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Their goal is to create possibilities for all abilities. The organization PossAbilities Plus is a nonprofit located in Atlantic Beach that seeks to enhance the lives of young adults with special needs through job training, employment and social opportunities.

Susan Peters, the CEO and founder of PossAbilities Plus joined Good Morning Jacksonville to describe the programs and services that students can participate in that will develop skills that they can take with them for the rest of their lives.

PossAbilities Plus has on-the-job training opportunities within a Thrift Store, the Cup of Dreams Tea Room and Secret Garden.  Participants can learn skills like customer service, training to work in a commercial kitchen, basic plant care and general maintenance.
