JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Firefighters have extinguished a fire at a home near Castaway Island Preserve in Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to an Aldea Cove Drive around 6:30 a.m. It is off of San Pablo Road. There were no transports, the agency said.
The fire charred a garage and roof of the structure. Neighbors at the scene told First Coast News they heard a large boom but did not hear where it came from.
JFRD said the fire started from garage and a homeowner was alerted by smoke detectors.
