Jacksonville film & TV industry celebrates achievements

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The 22nd annual Jacksonville Film & Television Industry Reception to recognize the achievements of local film and digital media production was held on Thursday at WJCT Studios.

The Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Motion Picture, Television and Commercial Production, the Jacksonville Film & Television Office, and other industry leaders were in attendance.

Al McGuire was presented with the 2023 Jacksonville Film & Television Industry Achievement Award. He is being recognized for his passion and skills in the audio industry.

Tatum Matthews and Hillary Warren were presented with the 2023 Rising Star Award. Honorees excel in their specific craft, show progressive advancement in their careers, serve as role models, and stand out as potential future stars. This award is given to people who have made great achievements in their early careers and have worked in the industry for less than 10 years.

“I want to congratulate the 2023 awardees for their hard work and contributions to Jacksonville’s artistic landscape,” said Mayor Donna Deegan. 

“I look forward to Jacksonville’s continued growth as a destination for all types of productions. I am thankful to each of them and the entire film and television production community for being part of the work to highlight the rich arts and culture here in our city.”

The Jacksonville Film & Television Office, a division of the City of Jacksonville’s Office of Economic Development, works with local film, digital media, and related businesses to enhance job creation and economic development.
