JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A motorcycle rider struck the back of a car on Interstate 95 early Monday morning and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, authorities said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Susana Ferrona, 23, of Jacksonville, struck the back of a disabled car in the left lane of I-95 near State Road 9 around 3:00 a.m.
The Malibu had been left immobile after an earlier accident, FHP said.
Ferrona tried to avoid the car when she noticed it, but was too late to turn.
FHP reports that charges are pending.
Ferrona is at UF Health in Jacksonville with critical injuries. She was wearing a helmet.
