ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A 61-year-old Elkton man was killed in a crash on State Road 207 (SR-207) in St. Johns County Wednesday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
At 7:30 a.m., FHP says the man was traveling northbound on SR-207 in the left lane, south of Cypress Links Boulevard. At the same time, a pickup truck was stopped in the right turn lane of Cypress Links Boulevard, FHP's crash report states.
The report says the man who was driving an SUV, "traveled across the left lane of SR-207 and onto the northbound lanes of Cypress Links Boulevard."
As a result, the man's SUV collided with the pickup truck's left side, as the SUV "continued traveling north on the east shoulder of SR-207 before coming to a final rest facing northeast," according to FHP.
Troopers say the pickup truck also traveled onto the east shoulder of SR-207 before coming to a final rest facing south.
FHP says the driver of the pickup truck, also a 61-year-old Elkton man, suffered minor injuries in the crash; their identities were not released.
