FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. -- A 24-year-old Fernandina Beach woman answered the hot car challenge and issued her own Wednesday.
Chelsi Bedell said she was inspired by Terry Williams in her two minute video to see what it would feel like to be locked in a hot car for a certain amount of time. Bedell said she was also inspired after 35-year-old Michelle King of Nassau County was arrested July 9 for allegedly leaving her child inside a hot car for three hours.
Bedell is extremely sweaty in her video, as she explains she had been inside her car for 30 minutes. " I don't see how it's physically possible for a baby 'cause I, me, I'm 24 years old and I'm literally about to have a heat stroke in this car. I don't see how that baby lasted three hours."
Bedell wipes away perspiration on her face during the experiment and explains that it is 93 degrees inside her car. "I challenge everyone to do the same thing, because when you sit in this car you realize how hot it is."
Since Bedell posted the video to her Facebook page it has been shared over eleven thousand times and has over thirteen hundred Likes.
Comments are coming from all over the country. Kentucky, Traverse City Michigan, Wichita Kansas, Mount Ida Arkansas and Northern California just to name a few.
Bedell's goal was to raise awareness and it looks like she was successful.
