ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — This February, it's time to crown the ultimate Florida Man.
What makes a Florida Man? A Florida Man is full of talents. Some legal, some otherwise. They're up to the Florida elements and hurricane force winds. And they're going to be put to the test at this sporting event in St. Augustine.
The Florida Man Games will take place at Francis Field in St. Augustine February 24, 2024.
Teams can enter online. You need five team members -- one team member can participate in each game.
The games include:
- Weaponized Pool Noodle Mud Duel, which will take place inside the Florida Man Games Colosseum (a big above-ground pool)
- Evading Arrest Obstacle Course, where competitors will jump over fences, through backyards and away from real police officers
- Category 5 Cash Grab, where competitors will endure category 5 hurricane winds as they try to grab as much (real) cash as they can
- A race that 'let's you live a day in the life of a Florida man headline,' entitled A Catalytic Converter, 2 Bikes, And A Handful Of Copper Pipes: Race Against Time
- Beer Belly Florida Sumo, which is just about what it sounds like.
There will also be a mullet contest, a beauty patent (The Florida Ma'am Pinup), Chicken Coup Bingo, and 911 Fight Night, where firefighters and police officers will take each other on as the games close.
The referees are Dan 'Nitro' Clark and Lori 'Ice' Fetrick, from American Gladiators.
