Stoeckline says the decision to close came very easily

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Toy Factory has been a staple at the Jacksonville Landing since Day 1 in 1987. Thursday afternoon, that will change. The store is closing up shop for good.

"I'm ready, I'm ready," said Richard Stoecklein, the owner.

He said making the decision was pretty easy. He says the combination of age, Internet and changes to The Landing all played a part.

"It was like a perfect storm," he said.

Since announcing the closure, people have flocked to the store to shop one last time and say goodbye. Angela George first shopped there 15 years ago.

"I'm going to miss looking at all the little toys," she said.

Stoeckline has lots of memories, but one sticks out over the years.

"My favorite memory is seeing little kids walk in the door and they do wow, that was the best for me," he said.

The store will open one last time Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Stoeckline says he won't be open for long, since there's almost nothing left to sell.
