Detectives expanding investigation of St. Augustine doctor accused of inappropriate advances towards patients

The Ormond Beach Police Department in Volusia County is asking patients of doctor Scott Hollington to come forward if they experienced unusual treatment.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Detectives are expanding their investigation into a St. Augustine doctor who previously faced charges related to inappropriate advances toward his patients.

After a year-long review, those charges were dropped.

However now, the Ormond Beach Police Department in Volusia County is asking for patients of doctor Scott Hollington to come forward if they experienced any type of unusual treatment.

The police department couldn't explain why they are asking for information but we do know Hollington was indicted last October on charges of distributing controlled substances. That case was being investigated by the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office which says Hollington was prescribing drugs in exchange for sexual favors without a legitimate medical purpose.

At this point, the Ormond Beach Police Department says it is only investigating inappropriate conduct by Hollington at an Ormond Beach Office called "Advanced Practice Nursing Services." No charges have been filed, no arrests have been made and police say they haven't heard of any new complaints against Hollington, but they want to make sure there aren't any more cases.

First Coast News reached out to Hollington for a comment about the accusations by email. He says, "My lawyer has advised against this. I do not have an Ormond Beach office."

If you are a victim, detectives say they are willing to talk and meet with you anonymously or confidentially.

In his October indictment, U.S. Attorneys announced their intent to revoke his medical license and according to the state's department of health, it is still active and will remain so during the investigation.
