ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — St. Johns County deputies are investigating what they are currently calling a "suspicious package" found on a sand dune near Crescent Beach Wednesday.
The suspicious package is a "yellow balloon tied to a white Styrofoam box," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.
The agency's Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team detonated the package. It was found near the beach area of Cubbedge Road.
The sheriff's office temporarily closed the beach where the package was found as well as the Mary Street ramp. Both have since reopened.
