Fourth and Gold gears up for Inaugural Golden Gala

The Jacksonville non-profit raises money for pediatric cancer research and will hold a gala on Nov. 14.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A cancer diagnosis for a child can be one of the scariest moments in a parent's life. The thought of treatment options can be overwhelming and when it comes to children, those treatments can often be extremely harsh and aggressive.

The Jacksonville nonprofit organization Fourth and Gold makes it their mission to fund research that looks for more humane treatments and cures for childhood cancer. Fourth and Gold president and founder Erin Tracy was a guest on Good Morning Jacksonville to describe recent efforts by the group to raise money for research and the recent grants that they funded.

Fourth and Gold has a number of community events throughout the year like kickball and dodgeball tournaments to raise money for pediatric cancer research. On Oct. 11, they will host a cornhole tournament at UNF Flex Field from 6-9 p.m.

On Nov. 14, Fourth and Gold will hold its Inaugural Golden Gala at the Lark in downtown Jacksonville. For more information about tickets to the Golden Gala, visit this website.

Since 2022, Fourth and Gold has been able to give out more than $200,000 for childhood cancer research and more information about the projects they support can be found on their website.
