Paul Williams, the husband and father of the two found dead, was charged with their murder.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A mother and daughter were found stabbed to death in Gainesville last week and deputies arrested the suspect: the husband and father.

The Alachua County Sheriff's Office said Leslie "Lisa" Williams, 57, didn't show up to work at Stephen Foster Elementary School. School employees tried calling her, but her husband, Paul Graves Williams, answered and told them "go check on her."

The Gainesville Police Department School Resource Officer notified the sheriff's office about the phone call and deputies went to her home on a well-being check. When they arrived, they found two people dead inside from apparent stab wounds, according to deputies.

Detectives identified the two as Lisa Williams and her daughter, Paige Williams, 15. Paul Williams was immediately identified as the person of interest in the case and a statewide alert was sent out for him.

Paul Williams drove back to the crime scene and was taken into custody. He was later charged with in the deaths of both Lisa and Paige Williams.

He was booked at the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
