For the first time, the McIntosh County Sheriff's Department has released the 9-1-1 phone calls of officers and dispatchers trying to find Lt. Robert Corey Sasser.
Sasser was believed to have shot and killed his estranged wife, Katie Kettles, and her boyfriend John Hall Jr. at the end of June.
In the tapes, you can hear dispatchers pleading with Sasser to turn himself in. This comes after Sasser tried to fool police into thinking he'd already turned himself in.
"Corey, honey, listen to me," she said. "Listen to me. You need to turn yourself in. do you hear me? You need to turn yourself in."
A 911 operator was heard detailing the scene where Kettles and Hall were found dead: "The girl told me immediately she heard six shots. The guy is down in his driveway. They don't think he is breathing. He is not moving."
On Thursday, investigators revealed that Sasser died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his chest. The funeral for Katie Kettles is this Saturday at 2 p.m. She leaves behind one son.
