CRESCENT CITY, Fla. — A Putnam County man is dead after a crash on U.S. 17 involving a golf cart and a car.
A 59-year-old man from Crescent City was driving a golf cart east from a private driveway attempting to cross U.S. 17 around 3:44 p.m., according to a release from Florida Highway Patrol. A sedan, driven by a 23-year-old man from Crescent City, was driving north on U.S. 17, approaching Old U.S. 17, when the golf cart pulled out from the driveway and into the sedan's path, the release says.
The front of the sedan struck the right side of the golf cart, according to FHP. The man driving the golf cart was pronounced dead on scene.
The driver of the sedan had minor injuries as a result of the crash, according to the release.
