JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A crash into a fence on Normandy Boulevard Thursday morning killed a 23-year-old passenger from Ukraine, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
At 1:45 a.m., FHP says the driver of a sedan, a 20-year-old Jacksonville man, was traveling east on Normandy Boulevard near New World Avenue when the car "veered off the roadway to the right, striking a fence."
The crash report from FHP states that after the initial impact, the right side of the car struck a tree. The passenger, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene, the report says, while the driver suffered critical injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to FHP, and troopers did not release the identity of the man or woman.
