The man was on a Carnival Magic cruise ship 186 miles east of Jacksonville.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a 35-year-old man, identified as Ronnie Peale Jr., who went overboard off the coast of Jacksonville Monday.

He was on a Carnival Cruise 186 miles east of Jacksonville at the time.

The ship embarked from Norfolk, Virginia on May 25. It is due back in port Tuesday morning.

According to a statement from Carnival, the man was reported missing by his companion late Monday afternoon.

Surveillance reveals the man leaned over the railing of a balcony and fell into the water at approximately 4:10 a.m. Monday.

According to the Coast Guard, they are using both air and water assets to conduct the search.
