MIDDLEBURG, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) shared an advisory Monday morning, saying people in Middleburg should be aware that there is a "heavy law enforcement presence" in the area of Bay Cove Court and Browns Road.
CCSO said at 9:26 a.m. that deputies and K9s are "currently searching the area for a person of interest who took off on foot."
The person's name is Darel Soles, according to the sheriff's office. Police say he is skinny, has "a lot of tattoos," is wearing a white tank top and jeans, and has brown hair with blonde tips; he is pictured below.
CCSO told First Coast News Soles was "involved in a domestic situation," and that an investigation into the incident is active.
Clay County District Schools told First Coast News Discovery Oaks Elementary was on a "modified" lockdown for almost an hour and a half, from 10 a.m. to 11:25 a.m., "out of an abundance of caution."
Everyone is advised that if you see anything suspicious in the area, contact CCSO at 904-264-6512. However, if it's an emergency, call 911.
