CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A prescribed burn in Clay County near Penney Farms has jumped its containment lines Tuesday and burned more than 450 acres -- the third fire currently burning on the First Coast.

A private land owner was allowed to burn just 20 acres on his property, but smoke being seen by aircraft suggests it has grown, according to Annaleasa Winter with the Florida Forest Service.

The owner has called for help containing the blaze.

No structures or people are in danger, authorities said. The fire has come up against a swamp that is slowing its spread.

FFS personnel and tractors are en route to the fire.
